ISKCON Vancouver's Harinams were extra special last month. Coinciding with the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics the atmosphere in Vancouver was unbelievably festive.

Olympic organizers and corporate sponsors spared no expense when it came to decorating the city.
Huge  banners and flags draped whole buildings and other colourful festive accents all through the city created an excellent arena and an ideal atmosphere for the descent of Lord Chaitanya's Harinam Sankirtan Party.

Ecstatic dancing devotees of the local Harinama party with blissful faces  weaved their way though the estimated extra quarter million daily visitors attending this city's world class event.
Some of the fortunate souls from all over the globe were present to witness first hand Lord Chaitanya's sankirtan movement and the chanting of the Maha Mantra.

Supportive shouts and cheers came especially from patriotic flag waving Canadians for the passing harinam party when the holy names were periodically interspersed with chants of  GO..CAN..ADA and GAU..RAN..GA.

The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics appeared to be a grand success for the city and the nation but the real benefit was for those who saw and appreciated the Lord's devotees dancing and chanting the holy names or received one of Srila Prabhupada's transcendental books.

Hare Krishna!
