In "Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead" it is stated that sometimes
the Vaisnava's, devotees of Lord Krishna, observe the occasion of Shiva
Ratri and despite the cold weather on Thursday evening, hundreds turned out
to celebrate this occasion to honor Lord Krishna's foremost devotee.
The evening began with a discourse on who Lord Shiva is in relation to Lord
Krishna along with some of his pastimes and the meaning of some of his many
names.
Perhaps the highlight of the evening, a dance duo with our Jalangi Cox held
the audience spellbound by the beautiful dance performance.
Lord Shiva was shown respect by the offering of flowers by many of the
guests who rushed forward to get his darshan.
The Shiva Lingam Abhisheka (bathing) in the outside Pandal was accompanied
by melodious chanting as the crowd congested to get some mercy by Lord Shiva
and Lord Krishna.
The guests appeared very pleased and spiritually uplifted as they concluded
their evening of devotion by honoring a full feast of Krishna Prasadam.
